Infiniti QX60 Monograph concept previews 2022 model

The Infiniti QX60 is an important vehicle for the Japanese brand when it comes to sales charts, yet its Nissan Pathfinder roots were always obvious. Infiniti has decided to do something about it and thus comes the Infiniti QX60 Monograph prototype, previewing the bigger differentiation in design of the next-generation 2022 QX60 when it comes around next year.

As the name suggests, the QX60 Monograph is a prototype, an exhibition of what the next-generation QX60 will look like. The front grill with origami-inspired textures is now more upright. The headlights draw from the design of other recent Infiniti models. The greenhouse is completely revised, erasing Infiniti’s “Crescent Cut” from the D Pillar. The exterior sure looks more sharp than the lukewarm present-day QX60. The interior may also sport a similar theme but we can’t be sure yet as Infiniti has not released images.

The mill under the Infiniti QX60 Monograph is also a mystery but we expect the brand’s 268 hp 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder engine from the smaller QX50 to find its way into this SUV as well. The new QX60 may also pick up other powertrains from Nissan’s parts bin, such as the existing 3.5-litre V6 or the 3.0-litre turbo V6.

With production-ready design traits like large mirrors and a realistic wheel size, the Infiniti QX60 Monograph does look close to a production model than a mere concept that will warm the stand at an auto show. But if the next-gen Infiniti QX60 looks like the Monograph, it can help the brand strengthen its footing in the increasingly-popular three-row midsize luxo-SUV segment.
