2021 Ram Heavy Duty debuts with up to 1,458 Nm of torque

Ram’s workhorse Heavy Duty trucks get up to 1,458 Nm of torque for the 2021 model year.

Ram (FCA? Stellantis?) massaged the Cummins inline-six turbodiesel to extract 101 Nm more torque for a total output of 1,458 Nm. This enables the 2021 Heavy Duty to tow up to 16,828 kg when using a gooseneck hitch. The trucks also get updated frame rails and rear-axle cross member to handle the additional load. Buyers can also opt for a fifth-wheel and gooseneck, both of which will be integrated cleanly into the cargo floor.

The 2021 Ram Heavy Duty trucks come with minimal design updates for the new model year. For white-collar buyers, there is a poseur Power Wagon 75th Anniversary Edition which blacks out the grill and adds more black trim on the doors, tailgate and rock rails. It also adds 17-inch Beadlock wheels and 33-inch tyres. Inside, it is finished in Mountain Brown and Gloss Black Trim with dark brushed aluminium touches. The special edition also adds a 12-inch infotainment screen and a 17-speaker Harman Kardon Stereo. Regular models are now offered with a digital rear-view mirror.

It is unknown if the special edition Power Wagon will be offered in the UAE and GCC, but the general updates will show up on the standard models in 2021.
