2021 Ford F-150 Tremor bridges gap between FX4 and Raptor

2021 Ford F-150 Tremor bridges gap between FX4 and Raptor

The Ford F-150 range had a sizeable gap between the FX4 and the extreme Raptor. To bridge this gap comes the 2021 Ford F-150 Tremor, carrying along with it some visual updates as well as more potency under the skin.

The business bit of the F-150 Tremor lies under the bodywork. The front and rear suspension are updated with new springs and exclusive monotube shocks up front and twin-tube shocks at the rear. With the updated suspension, the Tremor rides higher from the ground while having more suspension travel, all helping the truck get higher approach, breakover and departure angles. The Tremor also gets more off-road hardware in the form of lockable differentials at both ends, a strong skid-plate from the Raptor and a set of 33-inch all-terrain tyres on bespoke 18-inch wheels.

Powering the F-150 Tremor is the 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel-drive is standard, obviously. Ford’s off-road tech includes the Trail One-Pedal drive, which allows driving the truck with the throttle pedal. A Trail Turn Assist system helps in reducing the turning circle by locking the inside rear wheel. If these are not enough, you can also add the optional Trail Control system — a cruise control for off-road situations — to the package.

To ensure that the F-150 Tremor stands out, a unique grille and blacked-out Ford oval logo are given. The front end of the Tremor is updated to look more butch than the regular F-150 models. At the rear, the bumper gets dual exhaust cutouts and tow hooks from the factory. Orange trim outside and inside the  F-150 Tremor gives it the special identity it needs.

The price of the 2021 Ford F-150 Tremor is not out yet, but we expect it to be offered in the UAE and GCC sometime late in 2021.
