2021 Mercedes-AMG E63 S joins facelifted E-Class range

Soon after BMW unveiled the four-door supercar slayer, the 2021 BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz lifted the covers off their four-door rocket, the 2021 Mercedes-AMG E63 S sedan and its wagon variant. The new E63 S follows the newly refreshed E Class that was launched some time ago.

Visually, the E63 S sets itself apart from the rest of the business-y E-Class range with larger vents on either side of the fascia, connected by a wide third vent. Another lower vent sits below this. At the rear, the hot model gets trapezoidal exhaust outlets and larger lip spoiler. Other changes they share with the rest of the range include new grill and LED headlamps and new taillight design.

They also get a new 20-inch alloy wheel design and three new exterior colours.

Inside, the 2021 Mercedes-AMG E63 S shares a new MBUX system with the mildly-hot E53 AMG. The widescreen cockpit uses two 12.3-inch touch screens, sharing the same glass panel. It also gets a new AMG Performance Steering.

The business end of any AMG has not received any changes from the past model. The 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine still makes 603 hp and 850 Nm in the hotter E63 S sedan and wagon. This combined with the AMG’s Speedshift 9-speed DCT transmission and all-wheel-drive, propels the 2021 E63 S sedan from 0 to 100 kph in almost 3.5 seconds, while the wagon gets to the same 0.1 seconds later.

The 2021 Mercedes-AMG E63 S adds to the updated range after the E-Class and E53 sedan along with the Coupe and Convertible models.

Expect the new model to reach UAE and GCC showrooms by the end of this year.
