2022 Porsche Taycan GTS expands lineup with a new body style

Porsche is betting big on its electric cars, just like every manufacturer out there. As a part of this plan, they expand their lineup with the 2022 Porsche Taycan GTS. This slots in between the 4S and Turbo.

Visually, the Taycan GTS is similar to the rest of the range as expected. The front fascia gets a sportier intent thanks to a SportDesign package. Many surfaces on the exterior are finished in gloss or matte black while the 20-inch wheels get a satin black finish.

Staying true to the positioning of the Taycan GTS, it produces 590 hp, lower than the 670 hp of the Turbo but higher than 462 hp produced by the Taycan 4S. The GTS can sprint from 0 to 100 kph in just over 3.7 seconds. To stop the car, the Taycan GTS gets larger brakes than the 4S at the front. If more deceleration tickles your fancy, get the optional carbon-ceramic brakes.

The battery is a 93.4-kWh unit that can be charged from 5 to 80 percent in 22.5 minutes, thanks to a 270-kW charging capacity.

We all know the low-slung Taycan sedan, and we know the jacked-up, slightly rugged Cross Turismo as well. The GTS is available in the sedan flavor and a new body style. There is a new Sport Turismo body style on offer with the GTS. This borrows the body from the Cross Turismo but does away with the lifted suspension and the claddings.

Both the 2022 Porsche Taycan GTS and Taycan GTS Sport Turismo are expected to start getting delivered by the end of 2022 in the US.
