The Navigator is the Lincoln-badged luxury version of the Ford Expedition, a full-size 4WD known to be smooth, stable and refined for the most part. Heavily redesigned for 2003, its four-wheel-independent suspension is sophisticated, providing better on-road ride and handling, while low-range gearing is available for off-roading. The standard engine is a 5.4-litre V8 engine mated to a 4-speed automatic gearbox. What the Navigator does best is move large quantities of people and gear, with its perfectly flat cargo area and third-row seat, with the ability to carry up to eight passengers. The interior was different from its Ford cousin, with faux satin-nickel trim and real wood inserts. Other features include optional HID headlights, 18-inch wheels, optional power-folding running boards, power liftgate, leather seats and wood trim.
