The Rodius is the only Ssangyong-badged vehicle in the line-up that is not a 4WD wagon. Considerably ugly before, it underwent a recent facelift to improve its looks, although it is still a nightmare to look at. The five-door Rodius can seat seven or eight people, depending on how many people you want to cram in, and comes with a good set of features. The most significant of these is the 3.2-litre inline-six engine built under license from Mercedes-Benz, based on a ten-year-old design. The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic with manual shift capability, and power reaches the road through either a rear-wheel-drive or a four-wheel-drive system. Available features include cloth or leather upholstery, aluminium-look trim, alloy wheels, CD player, keyless entry, power windows, cruise control, electric mirrors and more. Safety features include dual front airbags with available side bags. The four-wheel disc brakes are assisted by ABS with Automatic Braking Differential, while traction control and electronic stability control are also available.
