2009 Ford Fusion

Launched in the United States back in 2006, announced in the GCC in early 2008, and finally launched here as a 2009 model, the Fusion is America's answer to the European Mondeo. It is odd that both cars are available here, with similar engines and mechanicals. The Fusion, based on a modified Mazda platform shared with the Mondeo, should attract a more-conservative clientele who may shy away from Ford's European offering. Featuring a three-bar chrome grille, a long body, and well-balanced suspension tuning, the Fusion offers comfortable interior room for both front and rear passengers, while promising an engaging drive. Powered by a 2.3-litre 4-cylinder engine mated to a manual or automatic 5-speed gearbox and front-wheel-drive, the Fusion comes in three trim levels and standard features such as power windows, CD stereo, electric mirrors and more.
