The Chevrolet Malibu is unchanged for 2015. Built in Korea and based on the front-wheel-drive Opel Insignia platform, the new Malibu is offered with a 2.4-litre 4-cylinder and a 3.0-litre V6, mated to 6-speed automatics. Aside from common features such as power windows, cloth or leather upholstery, keyless entry and CD/MP3 stereo, available options include HID headlights and a choice of 16-inch, 17-inch or 18-inch wheels. Standard safety features include 6 airbags, ABS, available stability control with brake assist, and options such as rear-view camera with parking sensors.

Known Problems
In the US, there were recalls for the front passenger airbag which may not detect the passenger, fuel pump flange which may fracture, side airbag fabric which may tear when deployed, loss of high power voltage on hybrid models, key which can be removed when the vehicle is not in Park, for a chance of loss of ABS and ESC assist, side airbag studs which may separate, and intermittent failure of audible seatbelt warning. Few owners reported intermittent power loss, stability trak warning, reduced power steering assist, not detecting If gear is in Park leading to starting problems and locking problems, and transmission shifting problems.
