Overview
The CL-Class is a rare breed, always in the shadow of its S-Class sibling, on which is is based. Receiving a complete overhaul like the sedan, this coupe features numerous innovative safety technology, such as up-front sensors which make it possible to assess the impact severity at an early stage during a crash and activate the front passenger airbag in two stages depending on the severity of the accident. Other features include Active Body Control for better handling, Intelligent Light System using bi-xenon headlights with five different lighting functions to match weather conditions. Options include night-view assist with infrared headlamps, reversing camera, voice control for car radio, DVD changer and navigation as well as tyre pressure monitoring system. Models include the CL 500 with a 5.5-litre V8 and a CL 600 with a 5.5-litre twin-turbocharged V8, both with automatic transmissions.
