2007 Mercedes-Benz R Class

The six-seater R-Class, the so-called Grand Sports Tourer from Mercedes-Benz, is certainly a trendsetter. This unprecedented vehicle concept attempts to mesh the qualities of a sporty saloon, a wagon, a minivan and a 4WD. All we see is a very sleek-looking minivan. Packed under the hood are rather powerful engines, but that hardly makes it a sporting vehicle. Models include the R 350 L and the R 500 L, both available only in long-wheelbase trim here, and then there is the shorter R 63 AMG. Amazingly, it is very hard to tell the difference between long and short models. Boasting ample spaciousness, exemplary standards of safety and impeccable comfort for up to six passengers, the new R-Class enthrals with its beguiling styling.
