The American-built Sequoia is Toyota's largest ever passenger vehicle. Its claim to fame is space, with three rows of adult seating and impressive cargo volume. In the GCC, this big SUV will be promoted as a family hauler rather than an offroader, considering the initial availability of a rear-wheel-drive variant. The four-wheel-drive model with low-range gearing came in 2010. By 2013, the 2WD model was dropped in UAE, but carried on in KSA. The second row can either seat two or three, depending on the setup chosen. It is powered by a 5.7-litre V8, mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. It may be based on the Tundra pickup-truck platform, but it comes standard with four-wheel independent suspension, stability control, CD/MP3 stereo, automatic three-zone a/c, stability control, front airbags, and side-curtain airbags. The only trim levels are SR5 and Limited, dropping the previously top-spec Platinum. Depending on trim level, this 'city SUV' comes with options such two rear-seat DVD screens, 20-inch alloy wheels, reverse camera and parking sensors, CD changer, powered tailgate, power-folding third-row seats, power tailgate, cloth or leather upholstery, navigation, rear air suspension and more. The KSA models are optionally available with in-car wifi as well.
