The Tahoe has been Chevy's bread and butter for ages now, and so GM went all out on the redesign of this full-size hauler even though petrol prices are at an all-time high. The Tahoe gets many upgrades throughout the vehicle, including a new platform and a better quality interior. A beefy new Vortec 5.3-litre V8 powers the Tahoe, with better fuel economy to boot. However it still had the ageing Hydra-Matic 4L60-E 4-speed automatic transmission. The V8 powers the rear wheels on the road, or through all four wheels when the standard 4WD system is engaged.
