BMW Z4 2010 Overview

The BMW Z4 was completely redesigned for the 2009 model year, shifting focus and becoming a comfort-cruiser rather than the focused sports car that it was before. Along with all-new styling, the Z4 now sports a folding hard-top convertible roof that folds down in 20 seconds at the touch of a button. While still a two-seater, the Z4 now has more space for two passengers and their luggage, although not much cargo room is left with the roof down. Changes to the cabin now include more premium materials as well as an integrated iDrive multimedia computer. The Z4 comes with a choice between three inline-6 engines. The Z4 sDrive23i with a 2.5-litre, the Z4 sDrive30i with a 3.0-litre, and the Z4 sDrive35i with a turbocharged 3.0-litre, all available with a manual or automatic, with the exception of the turbo motor, which can be mated to a clutchless automanual gearbox. The Z4 comes with Dynamic Drive Control as standard, which allows NORMAL, SPORT and SPORT+ modes, each of which changes throttle response and gearbox characteristics. Other features include the iDrive system with a high-resolution display that integrates entertainment, navigation, Bluetooth phone and climate control functionality. All the usual luxury features are available, either standard or optional, such as cloth or leather upholstery, power windows, electric mirrors, cruise control, powered seats, keyless entry with starter button, alloy wheels, and HID headlights, among other options. On the safety front, the Z4 Roadster comes with stability control, ABS, front airbags, head and thorax airbags, reinforced A-pillars and roll bars behind the headrests.
