Tata Indica 2012 reviews

Cheap to buy, cheap to fix, cheap to run

Slow, cramped, lousy build quality

Tata Indica 2012 Overview

The Tata Indica is an outdated hatchback first launched in India back in 1998, and on sale in the GCC for the first time from 2008 onwards, but only in select countries such as Saudi Arabia. The Indica is considered India's first indigenously-developed passenger car. In reality, the engine and engineering came from within India, but the exterior styling was largely handled by an Italian design firm. Italian styling would've been cool if it wasn't out-of-date by a decade. The five-seater is powered by a 1.4-litre 4-cylinder engine that is consumes less fuel than larger cars in general, but nowhere near as efficient as modern Japanese subcompacts. Standard features include a 5-speed manual and not much else. However, it can be outfitted with power steering, basic a/c, alloy wheels, power windows, keyless entry, disc brakes, four-spoke steering wheel, tinted windows, fog lamps, rear spoiler with integrated LED stop lamp, two-tone interior colours, chrome exterior trimmings, tachometer, child lock on rear doors, ABS and front airbags.

Tata Indica 2012 Reliability & Resale Value

Reliability
Resale Value
Known Problems Mechanically solid, although small problems can be expected due to simplistic build quality, but should be easy to fix. Cheap cabin trim pieces probably won't last long.
