The Alfa Romeo Mito is the smallest and newest member of this Italian clan of unloved cars, slotting into the sub-compact category with sporting pretensions and a high price. Available only in 3-door form, the Mito comes with a turbocharged 1.4-litre 4-cylinder, mated to only a manual gearbox. The interior can be optioned up with automatic a/c, power windows, electric mirrors, CD stereo, leather upholstery, aluminium pedals and more. Other available features include alloy wheels, LED tail lamps and HID headlights, among others. Safety features include stability control, front-side airbags, window airbags and a driver's knee airbag. Not much else is known about GCC-spec offerings, considering local dealers do not put much effort into marketing this Italian nameplate. In general, the Mito is available elsewhere with bespoke systems including Alfa's Q2 differential, the 'DNA' system, a selectable choice of settings, namely Dynamic, Normal and All-Weather, for throttle and transmission response, power steering assistance, suspension firmness and stability control, and Dynamic Steering Torque, or DST, which gives a counter-steering effect to combat oversteer and help maintain a smooth course through a fast corner.
