Chevrolet Camaro Convertible 2013 Overview

The Camaro continued with minor changes for 2013. Powered by a 3.6-litre V6 or a 6.2-litre V8, it rides on a shortened rear-wheel-drive Lumina SS platform, with four-wheel independent suspension and 2+2 seating. The Camaro comes in V6 LT and V8 SS trims, with an RS package adding some appearance enhancements. A new ZL1 model became available for 2013 as well. The V6 is only available with a 6-speed paddle-shifted automatic in the GCC. The SS gets a choice of two V8 engines, each customised for use with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. The automatic V8 features cylinder deactivation to improve fuel economy. The ZL1 gets a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 with a 6-speed manual or automatic. StabiliTrak traction control and front-side airbags are standard, while Brembo brakes are available on the SS version. The SS, recognisable by its fake bonnet vent, also gets stiffer suspension and adjustable Competitive/Sport modes for stability control and Launch Control on manual models. The hard-plastic cabin comes with cloth or leather interior, with standard blue LED lighting and optional glow-in-the-dark trim panels. There is a new frameless rearview mirror for 2013 as well. Standard features include air conditioning, power windows and lock, and keyless entry. Available features include heads-up display, sunroof and a new MyLink entertainment system which includes touchscreen navigation. Standard rims include 18-inch wheels for the V6 and 20-inch ones for the V8, both redesigned for 2013. The RS appearance package includes HID headlamps with integrated halo rings, spoiler, chrome tail-light rings, sticker stripes and 21-inch wheels. Safety features include front airbags, side airbags, ABS and stability control.

Chevrolet Camaro Convertible 2013 Reliability & Resale Value

Reliability
Resale Value
Known Problems Random electrical issues, such as faults with key fob, tyre-pressure sensors, Bluetooth software, power-window motors, blown speakers and pinched power-seat wiring harnesses. Numerous random build-quality issues, such as broken steering-wheel adjuster, jamming seat sliders, leaking shocks, cracked dash, air-filter box cracks, premature seat-cushion wear, worn bonnet-struts, water-leaks around windows, rear-deck rattles and tonneau-cover wear, though not all owners report same problems. Check for drive-shaft noises, coolant leaks and such, due to random factory flaws. Check all a/c components, as some had issues with compressor, warped belts, LCD a/c display problems, condenser leaks or blower fan squeaks, though not all issues affect all owners.
