Mitsubishi Eclipse 2010 Overview

Looking like an exotic sports car, but based on more conservative roots, the striking Mitsubishi Eclipse officially debuted for the 2009 model year in the GCC for the first time, after years of grey imports. This version of the Eclipse has actually been around in American markets for years now, and what the GCC gets is the facelifted version with a new grille. Under the hood, the new-for-2009 Eclipse comes with either a 2.4-litre 4-cylinder with a 5-speed manual or automatic, or a 3.8-litre V6 with a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic. Both engines MIVEC variable valve timing, while all automatics feature a Sportronic mode to allow manual gearshifts. Safety includes standard advances dual-stage front airbags, seat-mounted side airbags and front seat curtain side airbags. Available cabin features, depending on trim, include a CD/MP3 stereo with changer and subwoofer, power windows, keyless entry, electric mirrors, split-folding rear seatbacks, 17-inch or 18-inch alloy wheels, power-adjustable seats, sunroof, digital a/c and a two-tone interior. Mitsubishi has made the 650W Rockford Fosgate audio system with 9 speakers a standard fitment on all Eclipse trims. All models are equipped with front-wheel-drive, four-wheel disc brakes, ABS and electronic brake-force distribution. The V6-powered Eclipse GT features larger ventilated rear discs and standard 18-inch alloy wheels.
