The Toyota Fortuner shares the same underpinnings as the Toyota Hilux. However, the design is much more pleasing than its commercial cousin and also more comfortable, thanks to tweaks made to the suspension. In 2021, the Toyota Fortuner got a facelift and the 4-cylinder model got a very slight bump in power. The advantages of sharing a pickup chassis gives it superior off-road ability, as it gets four-wheel drive and low-range gearing. Slight tweaks have been made to the suspension to make it more comfortable than a Hilux. Customers can add two extra seats at the back at the expense of luggage space, if they want a 7-seater, making the Forturner a firm family-favourite here in the GCC. The 2023 Toyota Fortuner is available with a 2.7-litre 4-cylinder as well as a 4.0-litre V6 engine.
