The unique Infiniti FX "crossover" 4WD has been given a makeover as well as some mechanical upgrades for the 2009 model year. Most prominent are the sharky new face and the upgraded interior. The engine range gets a revamp too, with an uprated 3.5-litre V6 in FX35 trim and a new 5.0-litre V8 in FX50 trim, both with 7-speed automatics with paddle shifters. Built on the all-wheel-drive front-midship platform, the new FX features an extensive list of available equipment. Available features include Continuous Damping Control, Rear Active Steer, and 21-inch lightweight aluminium-alloy wheels designed by Enkei. Inside, the new FX interior has available "sport" seating and advanced audio, optional navigation and technology ranging from an 11-speaker Bose®-developed audio system to the intelligent key, available active cruise control and available around-view monitor system. The new FX offers numerous safety and convenience technologies such as intelligent brake assist, distance control assist, adaptive front lighting system, standard HID headlights, integrated fog lights, rear LED taillights, functional side air vents, aluminium roof rails, leather and wood trim, sunroof, "self-healing" clearcoat paint finish, stability control, and the usual power accessories and multiple airbags.
