Nissan GT-R 2016 Overview

The Nissan GT-R is a class-leading sports car built on Nissan's Premium Midship platform, and utilising carbon-fibre, aluminium and steel components. It gets the 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 "VR38" engine, mated with a dual-clutch automanual and all-wheel-drive. In 2015, it received minor facial changes and tweeks have been done to the suspension to improve handling, as well as comfort. A special Bilstein DampTronic system uses all pertinent vehicle information to provide appropriate damping forces for all situations and helps maintain a high level of control for straight-line driving, cornering, and braking. Structural stiffness, suspension and aerodynamics had all been upgraded for 2011. The shocks were upgraded again for 2012. Other standard features include HID headlights, LED front markers, LED tails, Brembo brakes, front and side airbags, run-flat tyres, launch control, and a CD stereo with Bluetooth and hard drive. The driver can adjust transmission shifts, shock absorbers and the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC-R) system with three button-operated settings for Normal, Comfort or Racing. Also interesting is a computer system that shows a variety of useful and useless information, such as cornering g-forces and acceleration percentage, alongside various temperature readings. Nissan admits the car being high-maintenance, and says the highly-tuned car cannot support additional mods. Each hand-built engine can vary in output compared to the official specs. Prices had gone up by 20% compared to the pre-facelift version, but then came down again for 2012, even while is was upgraded. A 'VVIP' edition debuted in 2011 that costs twice as much while offering a customisable leather interior and gold-plated exterior trimmings. A Black edition debuted in 2012 that added some red cabin trim and Recaro seats.
