Nissan Patrol 2005 Overview

The Patrol is Nissan's most capable 4WD in its lineup. It is smaller than the Armada, but still big enough to qualify as a big 4WD. It has garnered a reputation as an excellent off-road vehicle in the Middle East, even though it has been fighting a losing battle with the overrated Toyota Land Cruiser for decades now. It is also popular for its smooth on-road ride, though its handling leaves a lot to be desired. The latest engine is a 4.8-litre inline six-cylinder, alongside the older 4.5-litre inline-six which eats more fuel, and the frugal diesel 4.2-litre inline-six. A new five-speed automatic with manual sequential shift facility is available on petrol models alongside the manual. The latest updates give the Patrol an edgier new front end and freshened rear end. Straight-line drive transfer allows on-the-fly shifting from 2WD to 4WD with one touch of a lever. The latest Patrol has an all-new interior featuring better quality materials and more equipment. Along with two foldout cargo-area seats, it has room for seven. Front airbags are standard, among other features. After the launch of the all-new 2010 model, this older version continued to be sold briefly in a stripped-down format at a lower base price.
