Hyundai Genesis 2010 Overview

The Genesis is Hyundai's new rear-wheel-drive flagship sedan. It is designed to take on all sorts of established luxury-sport sedans at their own game. Hyundai's attempt at moving upscale is a solid effort at a reasonable price. For the GCC, it is offered only with one engine, namely a standard 3.8-litre V6 with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Genesis sedan offers a host of upscale luxury features including Smart Cruise Control, adaptive HID headlights, air suspension and a Lexicon CD audio system with iPod input and 17 speakers. Further features include a power rear sunshade, automatic electronic parking brake, proximity key and push button starter, leather upholstery, eight parking sensors with optional reverse camera, soft-touch instrument panel with woodgrain accents, Bluetooth hands-free mobile phone interface, rain-sensing wipers, sunroof, and a choice of 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheels. Safety aspects include front, side and curtain airbags, as well as active head restraints, stability control and big ABS-assisted disc brakes. The Genesis is a full-size luxury sedan competing in price with small and medium-sized models from established luxury marques, but Hyundai not having its own premium brand may be a downer for upscale buyers.
