The Mercedes-Benz A-Class changes focus completely from a half-sized runabout to a proper hatchback for 2013. Aiming to gain a larger share of the younger-driver market that the German carmaker has so far failed to impact in this region, the A-Class will only be offered in one version, the A 250, powered by a direct-injection 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder mated to a 7-speed "DCT" dual-clutch automanual and a front-wheel-drive platform. The 5-seater is offered in one loaded "Sport" spec that includes 18-inch AMG alloys, sporty bumpers, power windows, electric mirrors, multimedia screen, navigation, CD/MP3 stereo, USB port, Bluetooth, cruise control, keyless entry and other features. Standard safety features include front airbags, side-curtain airbags, radar-based collision-prevention assist, attention assist, stability control and ABS.
