BMW X5 M 2018 Overview
The BMW X5 M got a new model for the 2015 model year. Under the hood, it comes with a twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 engine, mated to a 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. Standard features in the X5 M include power steering, power windows, electric mirrors, keyless entry, central locking, Merino leather sports seats, leather wrapped M-steering wheel with aluminium paddle shifters, leather-wrapped dashboard, Alcantara roof liner, M-branded door sill plates, aluminium trim, contrast stitching, a 4-zone automatic climate control system, Harman Kardon audio system, xenon headlamps and 21-inch alloy wheels. Standard safety features include front driver and passenger airbags, curtain airbags, dynamic stability control (DSC), rollover sensors and tyre defect sensors.

| Known Problems | In the US, there were recalls for risk of shock or fire from the charging cable on the hybrid models, for the lower control arm which may break, and for the improperly torqued suspension bolts. Few owners reported issues with Auto headlights not turning OFF, 'Replace Battery' message, iDrive stops, and reboots, collision avoidance intervening when not needed and steering memory failing randomly. Some regions has recall for M vehicles to replace faulty fuel injectors. |
