The CLS-Class "four-door coupe" was completely redesigned for the 2012 model year and facelifted for 2015. Based on the latest E-Class platform, the CLS continues the trend of offering a repackaged midsize luxury sedan in a prettier suit. Models on offer include the CLS 400 with a turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 and the CLS 500 with a 4.6-litre twin-turbo V8. The V6 model gets a 7-speed automatic transmission, while the V8 model gets a new 9-speed automatic gearbox. Standard features on all models include leather upholstery, active parking assist, memory electric front seats, COMAND multimedia system, electric rear-window blinds, automatic a/c and LED exterior running lamps. Some models gets a standard sunroof, active shape-shifting front seats with fans, rear camera, intelligent keyless entry and start and a sports package for the non-AMG models.
