2013 Nissan Patrol Safari

When the new Nissan Patrol was launched in 2010, the carmaker elected to keep producing the older-generation Patrol Safari alongside the new one. The long-running Safari continues to be Nissan's best four-wheel-drive model. For 2010, it only became available as a 5-door model with the 4.8-litre inline 6-cylinder engine as standard, with the choice of a 5-speed automatic with tiptronic or a proper 5-speed manual. By the middle of 2011, a 3-door short-wheelbase model became available with the same drivetrain, as a 2012 model. Straight-line drive transfer allows on-the-fly shifting from 2WD to 4WD with one touch of a lever. The Patrol also has a decent interior featuring quality materials, wood trim, cloth upholstery, CD/MP3 stereo, manual a/c, fog lamps, 16-inch wheels and other equipment. Along with two foldout cargo-area seats, the wagon model has room for seven. Front airbags and ABS are standard, among other features.
