Porsche Boxster 2009 UAE Prices & Specs

Porsche is offering a "new" Boxster model from 2009, and while the facelift is barely noticeable, the real changes are under the bonnet. Still available in base and S versions, both models feature more horsepower, new gearbox choices and modern multimedia options. A new lightweight Boxster Spyder model debuted in 2010. The base Boxster now has a 2.9-litre flat-6, while the Boxster S has a 3.4-litre flat-6 with direct fuel injection technology. The Spyder uses the 3.4-litre engine, with slightly more power. While a 6-speed manual is standard on both, the optional new 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) dual-clutch automanual gearbox is also available, which actually improves acceleration and fuel economy. Cosmetic changes from 2009 include new headlights and tail lamps, larger front intakes with integrated running lights, and an altered lower rear-end with twin diffusers. Both models can be fitted with a never-ending list of optional features, which can drive up the total price by 30% or more. While the basic models are very bare on features, the car can be optionally outfitted with a hardtop, various types of expensive cloth or leather sports seats, different 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheel designs, a new Porsche Communication Management System (PCM) with a touchscreen, Bluetooth, TV tuner, DVD changer, metallic paint, stickers, wind deflector, roll bars, headlamp cleaners, Xenon headlights, rear parking sensors, and a cabin that can be trimmed with carbon-fibre, aluminium, alcantara or wood.
