Porsche Panamera 2012 Overview

The all-new Porsche Panamera is the German manufacturer's first ever 4-door sedan model. The 'Gran Turismo' is available in five versions, namely the Panamera S, the Panamera 4S and the top-of-the-range Panamera Turbo, with the base Panamera V6 and the Panamera 4 V6 joining the range in the summer of 2010, while the flagship Panamera Turbo S debuted in early 2011. The Panamera S and the Panamera 4S have a 4.8-litre V8, while the Panamera Turbo has a turbocharged 4.8-litre V8. An upgraded 4.8-litre turbo V8 comes the Panamera Turbo S, with an overboost function as well. All come with a 7-speed PDK automanual gearbox, while the 4 V6, 4S and Turbo feature all-wheel-drive. The base V6 and the S can also be had with a 6-speed manual. All versions come with Porsche's new fuel-saving start-stop function. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is a standard feature on the Turbo and an option on the Panamera S and 4S, with adjustable damping for the adaptive air suspension. In the Sport Plus Mode, the Panamera is lowered by 25 mm. The Panamera comes on newly developed 18-inch and 19-inch wheels, with 20-inch aluminium wheels available as an option. Available on the Panamera Turbo is an active adjustable rear spoiler. The four-seater Panamera boasts a unique leather-draped interior, with four sports seats and useable cargo room. Optional is a four-zone automatic a/c with individual adjustments for each seat. The Panamera S and 4S come with the "CDR" stereo as standard, while the Turbo is equipped with "PCM" multimedia computer, with navigation optional on the other two models. As an option, rear passengers can enjoy two consoles integrated in the headrests of the front seats with swivelling 7-inch touchscreens. Safety features include the usual cocoon of airbags, electronic stability control and ABS.
