The new Renault Safrane is a midsize sedan sedan that is based on the Japanese-market Nissan Teana platform, and is a rebadged version of the Korean-built Samsung SM5. This GCC-exclusive model is available in three trim levels and two different engine choices. Available with either a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder or a 2.3-litre V6, both with automatics, other features include a Renault Smart Card key, a 6-speaker or a 7-speaker CD/MP3 stereo with optional 8-inch subwoofer, acoustic cabin damping, automatic a/c with front and rear vents, manual-adjusted seats or driver memory seat, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlights, optional rear parking sensors, standard 16-inch aluminium wheels, optional rear spoiler, electronic stability control, electronic throttle control, standard ABS with electronic brake-force distribution, emergency brake assist, six airbags including side and curtain bags, and active protection headrests.
