Volvo XC60 2017 Overview

The Volvo XC60 was launched with high hopes for the Swedish company, capitalising on the small crossover vehicle market. The XC60 is a 5-seater crossover SUV that is aimed at attracting luxury-brand buyers. In 2017, only the T5 model was offered in the region, which comes with a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder with a 8-speed automatic and front-wheel-drive. The smallest XC model includes safety technology, Volvo's City Safety system, designed to help a driver avoid a collision at under 30 kph, or reduce the speed of impact at higher speeds by hitting the brakes if the vehicle in front suddenly stops and City Safety determines that a collision is likely. Other safety features on the XC60 is Pre-Prepared Restraints that uses a laser sensor that interacts with other technology to control the airbags and adaptive seatbelt load limiters. Other features, depending on trim level, include cloth or leather upholstery, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, reverse camera, keyless entry, sunroof, alloy wheels, common power accessories and a CD/MP3 stereo. An R-Design body kit is optional. Standard safety features include front and side-surtain airbags, stability control, ABS with EBD, and whiplash-protection headrests. A software-based Polestar power upgrade is also offered, adding 20-30 hp, depending on the model.
