Road Test: 2025 Voyah Free

The Voyah Free is one of the latest entrants into the UAE’s growing premium electric SUV segment, bringing with it a mix of Chinese engineering, European design influences, and advanced tech features aimed at standing toe-to-toe with established luxury brands.

Exterior

The Voyah Free is designed to turn heads. Marketed as having a “yacht-style body,” it combines flowing lines with sharp details. The front end features a blacked-out grille framed by slim LED headlights, a light bar that runs the width of the car, and an illuminated badge that gives it a distinct night-time presence.

From the side, the SUV stands out with flush door handles, 20-inch alloys with red brake calipers, and subtle Voyah branding on the C-pillar. The rear continues the high-tech theme with a spoiler, arrow-pattern LED taillamps, and a full-width light bar. No exhaust pipes here — a subtle reminder that this is a fully electric vehicle.

Overall, the Voyah Free looks premium without being overly flashy, a balance that should appeal to buyers looking for something different from the mainstream German options.

Interior

Step inside, and the Voyah Free immediately feels more luxurious than its price might suggest. The cabin makes extensive use of sustainable materials across the dashboard, doors, and upholstery. The highlight is the one-piece triplex screen setup: three 12.3-inch displays that rise on startup, including a dedicated passenger screen for controlling media and climate.

Personalisation is a big focus here. There are more than 100 ambient lighting colours, multiple interior fragrances, and themed instrument cluster graphics. A panoramic sunroof, wireless charging pad with cooling, and 360-degree camera system add to the feature list.

The seats are plush and spacious, with heating, ventilation, and massage functions in the front, while rear passengers get ample head and knee room, their own air-con vents, and a touch panel to control climate, audio, and even the sunroof cover.

Performance & Ride

Under the skin, the Voyah Free gets the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) version in the UAE. The EREV variant, which uses a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine as a generator to extend driving range, is expected to be the more practical option for the Middle East, addressing current charging infrastructure concerns.

The result of having this tech? The Voyah Free is capable of running more than 1,000 km on a single charge and a full tank of fuel.

Power output is strong with a combined output of 482 hp and 720 Nm of torque. It takes just 4.5 seconds from 0 to 100 kph.

The Voyah Free gets air suspension, which really enhances the ride quality. When driving in “Comfort mode”, it soaks up bumps and minor imperfections on the road very well. In “Sports mode”, the suspension stiffens and the steering feels sharper, but we would say it is still more on the comfort side.

The “Outing mode” lifts the air suspension up a further 10 cm to give it more ground clearance, giving you more confidence when going over some off-road trails.

Driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and a full suite of safety tech, putting it on par with rivals.

Voyah Free Price & Verdict

Priced at AED 185,000 in the UAE, the Voyah Free makes a strong case for itself in a segment dominated by premium American and European brands. It combines a sophisticated exterior, a tech-laden interior, and the practicality of an EREV system at a price point that is likely to undercut established players.

For buyers in the UAE looking for a luxury EV SUV that stands out without breaking the bank, the Voyah Free deserves a serious look.
