2022 Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is the new king of the ‘Ring

The Cayenne is one of the biggest success stories in automotive history. It is also the catalyst that triggered the SUV frenzy almost all sports car manufacturers are engaged in nowadays. Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is the newest addition to the SUV lineup. Hopping on the top of the SUV lineup, the Turbo GT is exclusively available with the Coupe body style. It also set an official lap time record of 7:38.9 minutes around the Nurburgring, beating the Audi RS Q8 by nearly 4 seconds to become the fastest production SUV around the track.

Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT does not say in its name about its body style preference. But the ones looking for the proper Cayenne Turbo GT must be disappointed. Adding to the Cayenne Coupe package will be 22-inch wheels, a different front fascia with larger air intakes and lower lip, a wider rear carbon fiber adaptive spoiler, and more carbon fibre elsewhere. The interior gets seating for four and gets “Turbo GT” badges on the headrests.

The Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT kicks up the performance a notch with 90 extra horses over the regular Turbo. Thanks to its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, the Cayenne Turbo GT makes 631 hp as well as 849 Nm of torque. The engine gains some new internals to handle this extra blast. This mill is hooked up to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

With this amount of power under the hood, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT rushes from 0 to 100 kph in just over 3.3 seconds. For better dynamics around bends, the Turbo GT gets lowered suspension, 17 mm closer to the ground. The air suspension is also 15 percent stiffer than before. Electronic performance nannies also get tweaked to conform to the new standards of speed.
