First Drive: 2026 Lincoln Navigator Presidential
The luxury SUV segment has become increasingly competitive, but the Lincoln Navigator has always taken a different approach from its European rivals. Rather than chasing sporty handling or lap times, it focuses on effortless comfort, isolation and making every journey feel special. With this latest generation, Lincoln has doubled down on that philosophy.
Our first drive of the all-new Navigator Presidential showed that this isn’t simply a facelift. It is a comprehensive rethink of what a full-size luxury SUV should offer, with new technology, an extensively redesigned cabin and a driving experience that prioritises refinement above everything else. The Middle East also gets the flagship Presidential trim, which introduces exclusive styling, Opulence leather upholstery and the new Enlighten interior theme. The Presidential trim also gains a distinctive illuminated grille and exclusive exterior finishes that separate it from the Reserve model.
Commanding Presence
There’s no mistaking the Navigator for anything else on the road. The redesigned front fascia is cleaner and more modern, dominated by the illuminated Lincoln Star and full-width light bar. The Presidential trim further distinguishes itself with a “Satin Aluminum Full Jewel” grille and illuminated grille bar, giving it genuine presence after dark.

The proportions remain unmistakably American. It is large without appearing excessive, while the elegant surfacing avoids unnecessary creases or aggressive styling. The 22-inch High-Gloss Ebony wheels fitted to the Presidential complement the premium look without appearing oversized. Around the back, the innovative Lincoln Split Gate is genuinely useful, functioning both as a traditional tailgate and as a bench for outdoor activities or family picnics.

Interior: A Rolling Lounge
If the exterior impresses, the cabin is where the Navigator truly separates itself.
Lincoln calls it a “sanctuary,” and for once the marketing language isn’t far from reality. The Presidential trim features beautifully finished Opulence leather, open-pore materials and excellent craftsmanship throughout. Our test vehicle featured the new Enlighten theme, which uses lighter colours to create an airy atmosphere unlike anything offered by most luxury SUVs.

Dominating the dashboard is the stunning 48-inch panoramic display stretching almost the entire width of the cabin. It immediately becomes the focal point of the interior and gives the Navigator a futuristic feel without looking gimmicky. Unlike some oversized displays that exist purely for visual impact, this one is thoughtfully integrated and works seamlessly alongside the 11.1-inch centre touchscreen.
Many of the infotainment functions are also controlled through the steering wheel’s touch-sensitive controls, allowing drivers to keep their hands on the wheel. It takes a little time to learn the layout, but once familiar, the system becomes intuitive and contributes to the clean, uncluttered dashboard design. Google Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Alexa integration and the excellent 28-speaker Revel Ultima 3D audio system complete one of the most sophisticated infotainment systems currently available.

The Navigator also comes equipped with Lincoln Co-Pilot360 Drive 2.0, offering adaptive cruise control with lane centering, blind spot monitoring, a 360-degree camera, lane keeping assist, reverse brake assist and evasive steering assist.
On the Road
Under the bonnet sits Lincoln’s familiar 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 producing 440 hp and 691 Nm of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive.
Despite weighing close to three tonnes, performance is never in question. The engine delivers effortless acceleration with strong mid-range torque, making highway overtakes almost effortless. The transmission shifts smoothly and unobtrusively, rarely drawing attention to itself. Press the accelerator to the floor and the V6 rewards the driver with a surprisingly deep and satisfying exhaust note, adding just enough character without compromising the Navigator’s refined personality.

Where the Navigator truly shines is ride quality.
Lincoln’s adaptive suspension continuously adjusts to road conditions, and it succeeds in making poor road surfaces almost disappear beneath the vehicle. Broken tarmac, expansion joints and uneven highways are absorbed with remarkable composure, giving the impression that the SUV simply glides over imperfections.
Body roll is well controlled for a vehicle of this size. It isn’t sporty in the way a Range Rover Sport or BMW X7 tries to be, but neither does it feel cumbersome. Steering is light, accurate and perfectly suited to relaxed long-distance driving, while the cabin remains impressively quiet thanks to extensive sound insulation and active noise control. Despite its size, the 440 hp V6 provides enough punch to make the Navigator feel surprisingly responsive whenever you ask for more performance.
Verdict
The all-new Lincoln Navigator Presidential doesn’t try to imitate German luxury SUVs, and that’s precisely what makes it appealing.
Rather than chasing outright sportiness, it focuses on comfort, serenity and effortless long-distance travel. Yet with 440 hp, 691 Nm of torque and a pleasing exhaust note under full throttle, it still offers enough performance to keep the driver engaged when the road opens up. The combination of outstanding ride quality, exceptionally comfortable seating, advanced technology, the impressive 48-inch panoramic display and one of the finest cabins in its class makes it a compelling flagship SUV.

For buyers in the GCC who regularly undertake long highway journeys or travel with family, the Navigator Presidential feels purpose-built. It delivers genuine luxury without unnecessary complexity and reminds us that refinement can be just as rewarding as performance.
The Lincoln Navigator prices start from AED 378,000 while the Presidential trim costs about AED 440,000. In the UAE, it comes with a 5-year/100,000 km warranty and service package.
