Fornasari creates RR99 5-door offroader

2010 Fornasari RR99
European niche manufacturer Fornasari has debuted their latest oddball creation. The all-new Fornasari RR99 is supposed to be a 5-door performance 4×4, built in Italy and powered by an American V8.

The RR99 is some 250 mm longer than Fornasari’s earlier 3-door creations, with a lightweight tube frame and weighing in at 1850 kg, about the same as a Jeep Grand Cherokee and much less than luxury 4×4 models such as the BMW X6.

Fornasari claims almost 50:50 weight distribution, and is powered by a 610 hp 6.0-litre Corvette-derived V8 with 748 Nm of torque, mated to an all-wheel-drive system with a 40:60 rear-biased torque split, a limited slip differential and the choice of a 6-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The claimed top speed is 280 kph, with 0-100 kph acceleration taking 3.8 seconds.

Unlike tuner firms, the Fornasari does not seem to be based on any existing platforms and is an in-house creation using outsourced mechanical parts. It is available in the UAE through some specialist car dealers on order.

  1. Apologies in advance for my ‘uneducatedness’..

Wow.. I am now so incredibly stunned that I am ‘imaginating’ new words..

but.. that hideous thing seriously, at least in the front, looks to me like an aston martin dbs on drugs with 4 doors and an elongated skirt to hide the fact that its wheels are out of any proportion..

  2. Looks funny and misproportioned and those bits and pieces from other cars just look too obvious.. Looks like a luxury dune buggy, fun car for party animals and rich cocain addicts..

  3. MASTer Piece better than Prado!!!
