GMC’s popular Acadia continues to win over customers seeking the spaciousness and capability of an SUV, with the smooth ride and responsive handling of a crossover. The Acadia also benefits from an enhanced version of the 3.6L V-6 VVT engine that uses gasoline direct injection technology to help produce 301 (net) horsepower, greater fuel economy and increased towing capacity. The engine is paired with Acadia’s fuel-saving six-speed automatic transmission.

Acadia seats up to eight comfortably and all models are available in front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. A comprehensive safety system includes standard features such as six air bags and StabiliTrak electronic stability control system with traction control and rollover mitigation technology, which can pre-emptively activate the side-impact air bags if sensors determine a rollover is imminent. The available Intelligent AWD system enhances dry-road handling and provides increased traction on wet roads by actively managing the torque distribution between the front and rear axles based on factors such as wheel speed, throttle and surface conditions.

Acadia is a sleek, athletic crossover with carefully executed details such as tight tolerances, a tailored wheel-to-body relationship and a range of upscale colours and select bright trim while the bright grille that frames a prominent GMC emblem and standard 19-inch machined aluminium wheels create a strong and confident presence.

Acadia’s open interior exudes refinement and attention to detail with many thoughtful features designed into a finely crafted environment. A car-like “low and away” instrument panel enhances the feeling of openness in the front-row seats and provides a commanding outward view. The instrument panel and other interior elements feature high-quality, low-gloss materials and tight gap tolerances. The vehicle is equipped with remote start and cooling system and perforated leather seats which have a cooling mechanism built for the comfort of the customers. Acadia is available with the option of seven or eight seats as per the convenience of the customer.

Other features include a Navigation system and DVD entertainment system that offers rear-seat passengers a multimedia experience with a flip-down DVD screen, infrared headphones and individual controls. A Bose 5.1 Surround Sound audio system with optimally located speakers provides big, clear and crisp sound throughout the vehicle, while a rear-view camera system gives a remote view of the area directly behind the vehicle via a 3.5-inch screen inside the rear-view mirror. Dual sunroofs are available as additional option on next variant.

What do you think?

  1. Acadia is no.1… i have owned two since 2005.. the latest is 2009 SLT2 AWD, and the previous one was back in the denmark which was SE base… never had problem at ALL….

btw in my Acadia the rear-view camera system displayes the view for the behind car on Navigation system screen within the dash and not in the 3.5-inch screen inside the rear-view mirror as it mentioned in the article…..!!!!!!!
