Brabus Rocket 800: The World’s Fastest Street-Legal Sedan

Brabus has been creating 320 km/h speedsters based on Mercedes-Benz sedans since 1996, beginning with the Brabus E V12 that had a top speed of 330 kph. It’s latest iteration is the Brabus Rocket 800 launched at the 2011 IAA Frankfurt motor show.

Based on the new Mercedes-Benz CLS, it’s powered by a Brabus 800 6.3-litre V12 Biturbo engine producing megalomaniacal 800 hp at 5,500 rpm and 1,420 Nm of torque at a low 2,100 rpm. To make sure the torque doesn’t annihilate the drivetrain, it is limited to “just” 1,100 Nm. Built on order for a whopping equivalent price of Dhs 2,173,488, it will hit 100 kph in just 3.7 seconds and 300 kph in stunning 23.8 seconds topping out at 370 kph.

Starting off with the Mercedes 600 engines, the displacement was increased from 5.5-litres to 6.3-litres comprising a crankshaft with longer stroke; larger, forged pistons and an increase in cylinder bore across the board. Intake and outlet ports of both cylinder heads are optimized for mixture flow, and fitted with sports camshafts.

The biturbo system comprises two special exhaust manifolds with integrated high-performance turbochargers, modified engine mounts and four water-to-air intercoolers. The stainless-steel exhaust system with free-flow metal catalysts and butterfly valve was also created specifically for the CLS floor plan. Mated for the first time with a seven-speed quick-shift paddle gearbox with various final drive ratios for optimising traction combined with a limited-slip differential.

A height-adjustable coilover suspension with 10 selectable settings for the gas-pressure shocks at the front and rear axle are the suspension upgrades along with sway bars for increased agility. Fade-resistant brakes consisting vented and grooved steel discs and aluminium fixed pistons ensuring adequate stopping power rest behind 19-inch Brabus Monoblock F wheels wrapped with high-speed tires.

The exterior gets carbon fibre flared fenders widening the CLS by 40mm and an aerodynamic-enhancement kit to reduce drag and lift consisting of integrated front spoiler and air inlets for the ram-air intake, air vents in the front fenders, side skirts with integrated entrance lights, rear wing and rear diffuser, rear fascia with side air vents. Sports steering with aluminium paddles, aluminium pedal set, stainless-steel scuff plates, all leather grey combined with high-gloss-polished black piano wood and alcantara headliner and a speedometer with a 400 kph dial is all part of the custom-tailored interior.

With an expected equivalent price of approximately Dhs 2.2 million, expect it to make its local debut at the Dubai Motor Show this year with a higher price tag.

  1. The S-class before the facelift, they made that go 350 kmph… wouldn’t that be the fastest street legal sedan?

  2. OOO my bad!
    Read in a hurry, oops!

  3. OMG…. That surely is a rocket.

  4. Runs on Uranium.. And melts the tarmac when doing 300+ Km/h..

  5. Brabus’ are brilliant. i don’t know why but i love when Brabus/AMG/Black make an engine to reach a certain level of Torque only to rein in the number later on:) 221mph!!:)

  6. Bugatti Boss-

“”It’s 800 horsepower now, but there are tuners today who can give you that and we don’t want our car to be involved in any discussion that involves tuners, so we have to move the benchmarks.”

  7. wait until the g power gets their hands on the bmw M5

  8. This thing has 800hp and does 0-100 in 3.9secs and costs 2.2 million. CTS-V has 550hp and does 0-100 in 3.9secs and costs 285000. Suddenly this feels as pointless as an Invdader L60.

    • Not 3.9 seconds but 3.7 seconds. There was a typo. Anyway I’m guessing the price has more to do with the top speed and stability along with cornering capabilities compared to the CTS-V

    • The top speed and stability will have to be out of this world if they have to justify its price. At least the person who buys this can be happy in the knowledge that by paying almost 2 million more than a cts-v he will touch 100kph 0.2 sec faster than the guy in the cts-v. In short he saves 0.1 sec of his time at a cost of 1 million.
I hope he uses that 0.1 sec for something productive. 😛

  9. Ok I remember another car, G Power BMW M5, top speed 372 kmph
