Burglars use BMW X5 to break in and look for iPhone 5

With all the hype surrounding the recent release of the iPhone 5, it was only a matter of time before we gave it some screen-time as well. A different kind of news from Apple has emerged, as burglars tried to rob an Apple Store in California recently, and it’s all caught on video.

The burglars used a 2003 BMW X5 to crash right through the store during early morning. But as soon as they drove in, a security gate dropped behind them.

The iPhone 5 isn’t out yet, but one of the thieves gathered as many other Apple products as he could before he fled from under the gate, while the driver had to batter the security gate quite a few times before he could get through with the car.

However the police claim the BMW X5 did not make it too far, as the criminals ditched the SUV after it had suffered heavy damage crashing through the gate.

The driver was eventually detained by the police a few hours later near the crime scene after he came looking for the license plate of the getaway vehicle, that fell off during all that gate-bashing.
