The U.S. spec Buick Envision was unveiled at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show. The Envision is aimed squarely at the likes of the Audi Q5 and the Lincoln MKC.

Visually, it is similar to the Chinese spec model with some subtle changes. The Envision is loaded with features like heated front and rear seats, Trizone climate control, heated steering wheel, 19-inch wheels and a Bose surround sound system. If you are ready to shell out more bucks, Buick will fit in a panoramic moonroof, cooled front seats, programmable powered lift-gate and a pair of Xenon high intensity discharge headlights.

On the technical side, Envision is the first crossover in Buick’s arsenal to sport the HiPer strut front suspension and active twin clutch All wheel drive system. Active grill shutters and an aluminium hood round the package off.

Underneath the hood lies a 2.0 litre 4-cylinder turbocharged 252 hp engine churning out 353 Nm of torque. A 6-speed automatic gearbox channels this power to both the axles as and when required.

On the safety front, the Envision comes with side curtain and knee airbags as standard, as well as Lane Change Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. It also gets the Stabilitrak Electronic Stability Control and Following Distance Indicator systems. Optional safety features include a Collision Mitigation Braking and Full Speed Range Adaptive Cruise Control.

This Buick also comes with an 8-inch Buick Intellilink Infotainment System which provides support for Onstar, 4G LTE and WiFi. Four USB ports, four 12V outlets,a 120V outlet, and Bluetooth have also joined the party.

The prices of the new Buick Envision have not been announced yet. As it is slated to be sold from mid-2016 , we expect to hear more about the price tag in the coming months.

  1. After the legendary Buick roadmaster production stopped at mid 90s, no Buick anymore.

It’s always a sad story when a brand losses it’s spirit.
