Mercedes-Benz S-Class range gets S560e hybrid model

The new 2018 Mercedes-Benz S560e hybrid will replace the S500e hybrid in the S-Class lineup.

It carries a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine that works in harmony with an electric motor, together providing 488 hp and a colossal 940 Nm of torque. This power reserve helps the new S560e to run from 0 to 100 kph in 5 seconds. The top speed is limited to 250 kph.

The efficiency of the S560e is great, to say the least. The massive sedan returns an impressive fuel economy of 2.1 litres/100 km. The C02 emissions have slashed down to 49g/km. The 13.5-kWh battery provides it 50 kilometers worth of electric range.

All the power electronics of the car have been moved under the hood, freeing up space in the trunk. The 410 litres trunk of the S560e has increased in capacity by 15 litres from that of the old S500e. Gimmicks like the pre-entry climate control let the driver set the departure time, by which the car will adjust the temperatures of the air, steering wheel, seat ventilation and the arm rests.

The Mercedes Benz S560e was showcased at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show along with the updated S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet range.
