2022 MG RX8 Black Edition debuts in the UAE & Middle East

MG Motor recently revealed a special edition version of their seven-seater SUV the MG RX8 in the Middle East. The MG RX8 Black Edition gets additional black interior and exterior styling cues on the top LUX trim model.

The RX8 Black Edition adds black side mirror covers, side mouldings, door handles and roof rails, and rounded off by the Black Edition badge and black chrome finish exhaust and bumper at the rear. There is also an electric side-step that is triggered when you open the door. Black 20-inch alloy wheels round off the look. Inside, the MG RX8 Black Edition upholstery is in premium all-black leather.

Mechanically things remain the same, with a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder motor under the hood, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, producing about 220 hp and 360 Nm of torque. The RX8 offers a real-time 4×4 Torque on Demand (TOD) system, as well as 4WD system with six different driving modes.

The price of the MG RX8 Black Edition is US $28,900 without VAT, which is about AED 106,200. It is available in all MG showrooms across the Middle East.

Keep track of the latest prices and updates in the MG RX8 buyer guide.

  1. Hi.. you may consider road testing Chinese cars from popular(recently) brands Changan, GAC, MG, BAIC, Hongqi as these are selling in good numbers. You may include your review reliability related points like how many panels have already come off and how many are likely in next few weeks, how loudly the body and panels rattle etc, so that readers can make well informed buying decision. You may also include interview or feedback from existing users (not those who are trying to sell).

    • Yes, A good Suggestion. I second that..

    • Dear Nabajyoti, you seem to underestimate the performance of chinese cars, I own a MG RX8 for the past 21 months with 32k currently on the ODO, the vehicle performance is consistently excellent as day one, i am enjoying the luxury of this car at a budget price where you have to empty 200k to enjoy same benefit from other (so called) established brands. Korean cars had similar impression among public when they were initially launched, now you know what is their market share.

PS: I am not selling my car 🙂

  2. I would like to know why Qatar is updated with latest Chinese cars like Maxus and Geegly with their latest launches like Geegly Tugella and Maxus D 60 and it’s not there in UAE. I usually think the other way that UAE market releases the latest one
