2024 BMW M3 CS debut with more power and less weight

BMW M Clubsport or CS models have always been a step up in madness from their regularly mad M cars. The F80 generation of the BMW M3 is now getting the CS treatment, more power, less weight, and faster numbers.

The pretty bits of the 2024 BMW M3 CS start under the hood. The twin-turbo 3.0-litre inline-six gets a little treatment to churn out 543 hp, 40 more than usual. The torque figure stays the same at 650 Nm.

Along with the increase in power, the 2024 BMW M3 CS loses some weight as well, 34 kgs to be exact. BMW uses Carbon fibre-reinforced plastic for multiple parts like the hood, side mirror caps, rear diffuser and more. A roof made out of the same materials drops the centre of gravity to aid handling.

The weight shedding does not stop there. The M3 CS also uses front seats with shells made out of carbon fibre. The rear AC and vents are all gone now in a bid to save weight. Unlike the even more extreme M4 CS, the M3 CS still retains its rear seats.

All this, and the 2024 BMW M3 CS will sprint from 0 to 100 kph in just over 3.4 seconds. With a standard M Driver’s Package, the top speed is a pretty solid 303 kph. To stop it, BMW offers carbon ceramic brakes, but only as an option that costs extra money.

To make the 2024 BMW M3 CS look the part, BMW offers it in a Signal Green paint that gets more contrast from the yellow daytime running lights, exposed carbon fibre surfaces and the red highlights.  For those who need a little less bling, there are a couple of other colours available. The red highlights carry over to the interior as well, contouring some carbon fibre bits.
