Formula 1 driver Jules Bianchi passes away, first F1 death since Senna

Jules Bianchi, the 25-year-old Formula 1 driver, passed away yesterday morning after being in a coma following his freak accident at the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix 9 months ago. At that time, Bianchi raced for a backmarker team — the Ferrari-powered Marussia F1 — and was among the best from the Ferrari Driver Academy program, Scuderia Ferrari’s own driver development program.

Red Bull Racing’s Sebastian Vettel may have predictably lost this year’s Formula 1 championship to Mercedes-AMG as Lewis Hamilton finished off the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in first place, but the team is still up to their usual public hijinks. Late last week, a Red Bull F1 race-car played the UAE national anthem using its computer-controlled engine revs during the Infiniti F1 Showrun at SkyDive Dubai, as seen in this video by Karage TV.

With Formula One fever currently gripping the UAE as the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is taking place at the Yas Marina Circuit, EMC technology and the Lotus F1 recently released this insane stunt video involving a semi-truck and an F1 car. The stunt also broke the world record for the longest jump in a truck, at 83 feet and 7 inches, or about 25.5 metres.
