Cooper Tire plans to increase its reach in Middle East

Foj Cooper- Dec 2014

American tyre company Cooper Tire is looking to increase its presence in the Middle East. Their first move in their commitment to the region was to become the official tyre sponsor of the upcoming 2015 Dubai Motor Show this November, ahead of more product launches over the coming months.

Cooper Tire has already been supplying tyres to the region for almost 3 decades. They have a decent following in the Middle East, thanks to their off-road tyres which are considered one of the best in the market for dune-bashing. They currently showcase a range of products through eight regional dealers across five Middle East countries.

Speaking at the regional press conference this week in the UAE, Jeff Schumaker, said “The coming 12 months is set to be hugely important for Cooper Tire in the Middle East and partnering with the region’s leading automotive event is the perfect platform for us. We are looking forward to making our mark on the Middle East and bringing our customers some for the most cutting edge products that are designed for thousands of miles of excellent service.”

Only a couple of years ago, Cooper Tire entered the Original Equipment market, with the Cooper Zeon RS3-A tyre being fitted as standard OE on the 2013 Ford Focus SE and Titanium models. More cars are set to feature OE Cooper tyres very soon, according to Schumaker.

Originating in the United States, Cooper Tire has been manufacturing and supplying tyres since 1914. They are the 10th biggest tyre manufacturing company in the world, with factories in 8 different locations with 4 in the United States, 2 in China and the other two in the UK and Serbia.
