Mercedes-Benz V-Class Marco Polo Horizon adds to van line-up

Mercedes-Benz debuted the redone 2017 V-Class van in the UAE and GCC late last year, but the increasingly-mainstream German carmaker is going further in the European market with the new V-Class Marco Polo Horizon model.

The Mercedes V-Class Marco Polo Horizon is a mini-house with amenities such as a kitchenette, a bench seat that can be extended to form a bed, another bed on the roof, swiveling front seats and a wardrobe. The van can seat from four to seven people using its highly flexible seating layout or it can gobble up larger cargo by simply taking the seats off. The bench seat at the back can be folded down to form a bed that can sleep 3 people, which along with the roof bed increases the count to 5. If opulence is sought after, the Marco Polo Horizon can be specced with wood-like trim, piano lacquer-look accents and a wave look trim. An AMG Line pack is also on offer to add some “sportiness” to the van.

Showcased at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the V-Class Marco Polo Horizon will have three diesel engines on offer with power outputs ranging from 134 hp, 161 hp to 188 hp. Rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive layouts are available with a 7-speed transmission. In the UAE, the regular V-Class is largely available as a 211 hp V250 petrol RWD model.
