Tesla Model S electric sedan prototype unveiled

Tesla Model S Prototype
Tesla broke into the scene with the promise of an all-electric sports car that was extremely quick and required no petrol whatsoever. They recently fulfilled that promise with the showroom-ready Tesla Roadster, which are already on their way to early buyers. Their latest plan is to offer a more practical car, but with the same ideas of sportiness and efficiency as the Roadster. That new car is the Tesla Model S, and its first prototype was publicly shown in the United States.

Tesla unveils world’s first mass-produced, highway-capable EV Model S sedan has anticipated base price of $49,900, up to 300-mile range and 45-minute QuickCharge capability

Tesla Motors is now taking orders for the Model S. The anticipated base price of the Model S is $49,900 after a federal tax credit of $7,500. The company has not released options pricing. Three battery pack choices will offer a range of 250 km, 370 km or 480 km per charge. Tesla expects to begin producing the Model S sedan in late 2011.

The American company says that initial plans for showrooms only include the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany. It will be a long time before a Dhs 200,000 electric car shows up in the GCC, for obvious reasons.

  1. lol. lightning hit the interior! xD . Superb car!

  2. looking at the specs i think we would not mind having a electric car here, anyways it will be still cheaper to “refuel” this here too. plus u need a villa with a garage to charge it

  3. by the way the owner or CEO of the company is Israeli so I dont think they going to sell it in the UAE

    • You are wrong

Owner is south African. and there may be quite a bit Jewish share hoolders, then again all American car companies have Jewish shareholders. that is not stopping other American cars from selling vehicles in this region

  4. The design seems to be a replica of the Jaguar XF, particularly from the back!

  5. A Jaguar XF from behind and an Auston Martin Vantage from the front.

  6. Saw this episode on Top Gear which says electric cars are basically pointless, because end of the day, the electricity comes from power stations which burns fossil fuels to produce the electricity. The real deal is hydrogen powered cars apparently, which is heavily abundant and can be put in ‘hydrogen pumps’ which doesn’t take too long to fill up in the car.

  7. Murf even hydrogen is very very costly. and does not make sense at the end of the day because you need alot of energy to seperate hydrogen from the oxygen using electrosis which need electrisity.

At the end of the day oil is one of the best energy for transportation. If it wasnt then I would know what the Western world would do to us

  8. right now, that the only prob with hydrogen is the production part which requires electricity.

  9. ok..everything is costly..so then lets switch to the basics..the human-powered BICYCLE!! 😎 😎 😎

  10. and where cn i find this car?

  11. sultan ali wants to buy everything

  12. green is better than ever
    these 98k-150k dollar car
    indeed is a great saving
    if u really r spending 4
    ur zakah and sadaqah

  13. If you really want the edge; check out the fast wind powered Elan Series of boats. So, sultan ali, want to have something that few can get? And, yes, I am after a new Tesla as well.
