2009-2010 Nissan Altima and Maxima recall

2009-2010 Nissan Altima and Maxima recall

2010 Nissan Maxima
Nissan’s American division is recalling certain 2009 and 2010 Altima and Maxima cars due to a mechanical defect. The upper front “strut insulators” in 26,000 cars may have been manufactured out of specification, resulting in a potential for the suspension’s “strut insulator” to crack.

According to the U.S. NHTSA safety agency, if the strut insulator is cracked, there is a potential for the strut rod to come out of its mounting position, which could affect vehicle stability and increase the risk of a crash.

Nissan will notify U.S. owners, and dealers there will replace both left and right side front strut insulators free-of-charge. All GCC-spec Altima and upcoming Maxima models are also shipped in from the United States, but it is unknown if UAE, Saudi and other local dealers will take action.

  1. i think the maxima here will be fixed by the dealers before giving them to owners “if there any”…since they didnt start selling it till now.
and the Altima 2010 is not launched till now..maybe they meant the 2009 altima only…BTW: they said that if the insulator gets cracked the owners will start hearing a loud noise…and they will raplace it under warranty..
    thanks for the news

  6. why say no to nissan? cuz of a recall? every manufacturer has had recalls and there always will be in the future with cars getting more and more complicated.

I did see that Toyota news too. But those American-built Corollas and Chinese-built Camrys are not imported here, so it does not affect us.
