OMODA has announced its export sales figures for June, with a total of 14,047 units exported. The cumulative export sales for the first half of 2023 have reached 70,821 vehicles, putting them on track to achieve their annual target of 200,000 overseas sales.
As a global brand, OMODA’s first car, the OMODA C5, has been launched in many countries and regions around the world. In the Middle East, it is currently launched in Kuwait and Qatar and will be launched in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Omoda and Jaecoo recently debuted as independent brands at Auto Shanghai 2023. It was called the Chery Omoda before, but now the parent company has decided to launch it as an independent brand as they are considered to be more luxury. Among the cars unveiled at the event were the Omoda 5 e-QUA, the brand’s first purely electric vehicle, and the Jaecoo 7 and Jaecoo 9.
Omoda and Jaecoo are mainly focused on establishing electric cars. As of now, Omoda and Jaecoo will enter the Saudi Arabian market with petrol versions. However, in the later stages, EV models will also be introduced globally and in the UAE and KSA markets.
Abdul Latif Jameel Motors, the authorized distributor of Toyota vehicles in Saudi Arabia, unveiled the 2023 Toyota Urban Cruiser, the latest addition to Toyota’s growing compact SUV lineup in the Kingdom. The all-new five-seater compact SUV offers fuel efficiency, a spacious interior and advanced features.
The 2023 Land Rover Defender 130 arrived in the UAE this year and is the third Defender variant currently being sold in the GCC market. To recap, there is the Defender 90 and the Defender 110, both of which debuted in 2020. The Defender 130 more closely relates to the 110, as it shares the same wheelbase but adds extra room at the back to seat eight passengers comfortably—the Defender 110 tops out at seven.
Al Ghurair Investment, one of the largest diversified family business groups in the UAE, announced a strategic partnership with Chinese automobile manufacturer Exceed Automobile Company (EXEED) to debut their premium range of SUVs across the UAE.
Peugeot Middle East, part of the Stellantis Group, today announced that it will supply DHL Middle East with the region’s first fully electric fleet of Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs). Peugeot is currently the only automotive manufacturer in the Middle East to offer fully electric LCVs, reinforcing the brand’s mission to lead the market in electrification and carbon net zero automotive products and exceed the expectations of its customers.
Chery’s executives ran a live-streaming event with the core media outlets recently, during which they introduced the overall strength and brand concept of Chery, and prepared to launch a new model, the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max, in the UAE.
Chinese premium brand Exeed recently revealed their cars and plans for the UAE on a live stream to the country’s top media, including DriveArabia. Vice general manager of the Middle East Region Mr Simon, brand director of Exeed international Mr Kevin, product director of Exeed Mr Ge attended and made a detailed demonstration of Exeed’s brand strength, current products and future development plan in the UAE.
