Lexus LFA production version debuts in Japan

2011 Lexus LF-A
After spending half a decade in development hell, running the ‘Ring in camo, briefly getting cancelled during the recession, and even racing at a few events, the production version of the Lexus LF-A supercar has finally debuted in Japan.

The 2011 LFA, as it is now known, is powered by a 4.8-litre V10 putting out 552 hp at 8700 rpm and 479 Nm of torque at 6800 rpm, with a redline of 9000 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed sequential automanual gearbox and a rear-wheel-drive platform with limited-slip differential and a reasonable 1,483 kg curb weight.

The supercar is apparently capable of 0-100 kph in 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of 323 kph.

The LFA has a 48:52 front-to-rear weight distribution, and a 65% carbon-fibre body. It comes with 20-inch BBS alloy wheels wrapped in 265/35 tyres front and 305/30 in the rear.

Not really the Toyota Supra replacement that everyone was hoping for, the Lexus LFA is expected to retail for the equivalent of Dhs 1.4 million, because it will be limited to 500 units.

  1. a true japanese competition for italian n german exotics….

  2. the car still luks like its undergoing testing due to many black patches alll over the body…..they shld have made it a bit more clean in terms of design…..

  3. Luxury cabin and nice exhausts. It has a wonderful cooling system and brakes. Wonder how much it costs?

  4. Nice Car but tooo expensive man hope it was cheap … i would be the first one to buy it

  5. liked the shape looks fine..but not better than the concept “as if it should be lol”…and they changed many stuff too…
i think this is because of the aerodynamics problems they faced before…especially the head lights and the front bumber…
the second thing is the power..the Hp is really good and what i liked most is that it revs to high rpms..and its sound will be like F1 cars …but looking at the torque…its low when looking at the size of the engine (and # of cylinders)…dont know why..and the driver should wait to 6800 rpm to get the max values…

the top speed is good but not as what i expected..they faced a problem at the begining during testing stages that the car was not able to exceed 183 or 190 mph..and now after all of this time and the changes to the shape and we get around 202???

third part is the price…i wont pay a 1.4 million for a nissan or a toyota or a honda..money wise..i think it doesnt deserve this amount of cash..
but since they have 500 units only..i think it wont face any problems in selling..
and i read some where else that although its around 1.4 but toyota will lose by selling every car..

overall..the car looks very good..and is very attractive..but not as what most people expected…and the price is way too much to own one…

  6. i would buy a sl65 black series for that price and mercedes is the best brand in the whole world

  7. Lexus putting the LF-A as 1.4 mil is insane but the performance is pretty awesome.

I think if it was less powerful and high production would have been better.

  8. 1.4million….hahahaha!!!

  9. 1.4 million damn!!! thats alot..

  10. why is it 1.4 million? is it really worth that? I mean it could be 500-800 thousand but 1.4 is too high. the car looks really good and the interior is amazing!

  11. tooooo ……expensive ??????

  12. Hey Mash!
Is this car mid-engine or front???

  13. its a front engine…eith radiators at the back lol

  14. Author

    The triple A is right.

  15. it’s expensive because it’s 500 units only .
but with this price i will go to the top of class ferrari.

  16. Radiator behind….???

  17. yes..you can see the rear grills below the tail lights..actually on every side…so if the owner got screwed from the back lool..
imagine what the price of fixing will be when looking at the price of the car..
also the trany is located at the back..like the one in the GTR..but i read it has something special that is a bit different from the DCT found on the other cars..
