Chevrolet giving away one Cruze per day in GCC

Our Chevrolet Malibu long-termer has gone back to the General for use in some photo shoot, so they’ve provided us with a temporary replacement car, simply as a courtesy. The car happens to be the graphite 2010 Chevrolet Cruze that we tested a few months ago, so there isn’t much left to say about it, other than how much fun it is to throw around a good-handling compact car. Incidentally, Chevrolet Arabia is giving away a Cruze every day during the FIFA World Cup.

With World Cup fever gripping the region, Chevrolet is upping the excitement and passing on the rewards to loyal fans by giving away one Cruze compact car every day in a regional SMS-based promotion during the month of the FIFA World Cup, from June 11th till July 11th.

Participants from around the region can enter the draw by sending an SMS with the name of the country they are supporting in the World Cup (for example Brazil) to their mobile network operator in their country.

Winners will be announced every day on the MBC 1 TV programme Sada Al Malaeb at 1:30 am and repeated at 9 am.

As we understand it, the campaign is only being targeted at Arab speakers. To participate, you have to catch the ad for this competition on one of the MBC channels or go to the channel’s Arabic website, where the phone number for each country will be shown. You simply have to SMS the name of your favourite country team to the phone number for your country of residence. In our case, it looks like the numbers for the UAE are 2212 for Etisalat or 4400 for Du. All the phone numbers are listed in the drop-down list near the bottom of the competition page.
